The studio stops being an island
NDI turned every camera, graphics box, and switcher into a source on your network — brilliant, right up to the edge of the LAN, where NDI was built to stop. WAVE speaks that same source natively and carries it past the edge: frame-for-frame, in sync, metered by the second.
No NewTek app, no VPN, no catch
WAVE speaks NDI with its own sender and receiver. In WAVE's end-to-end smoke it creates an NDI source, transmits it, receives it back, and meters both ends. A per-frame integrity check stamps a 16-bit sequence as both a pixel barcode and NDI metadata, decodes it from the received pixels, and cross-checks — the smoke hard-gates on zero mismatches. Not a demo of NDI — WAVE being NDI.
One adapter on the WAVE Media Engine
NDI is the first adapter on the WAVE Media Engine: one master clock, one integrity check, one metering schema shared by every transport WAVE speaks — Dante/AES67, SRT, ST 2110, OMT, MoQ. Bridge NDI to any of them, meter it through api.wave.online, bill it on the same x402 rails as the rest of WAVE. The source that just left your building can arrive on a different protocol on the other side.
Federated through api.wave.online — auth, entitlement, and metering land on the same rails as every transport WAVE speaks, the day the metered /v1/ndi/* route ships.
